St Joseph’s Trust Hospital provides a 3 years DNB in General Medicine course to the students. A Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in General Medicine is a three-year postgraduate degree in medicine that is awarded by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The course is considered equivalent to post-graduate and post-doctoral programs offered by medical colleges in India. The first year of the DNB in General Medicine course focuses on general medicine training, while the second year involves training in specialties such as: Cardiology, Endocrinology, Medical Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, and Critical care areas. The academic activities are planned ,coordinated and conducted by the faculty of Dept of Internal Medicine who have experience and expertise in this field.
The academic activities includes, daily clinical rounds, bedside case discussions, clinical presentations, seminars and training workshops. There are facilities for experiential learning of procedures and skills through simulation lab and advanced training modules. Thesis work required as per the MBEMS rules will be facilitated for the trainees by experts in clinical research and statistics. Trainees will be provided with single occupancy accommodation along with food in the hospital campus.
